Do I need to meet specific application criteria to attend NuYu?

Not necessarily, although we do conduct a brief interview with you at the time you decide to book in with us, we do not discriminate against any person who wishes to attend the NuYu program based on weight or other health factors alone. We specialise in assisting people make the necessary lifestyle changes in order for them to achieve weight loss and ultimately optimum health, and are therefore willing to assist anyone who wants to achieve these outcomes.

Do you accept people with specific health conditions, such as;

  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension (high blood pressure)
  • High Cholesterol
  • Hyperthyroidism or thyroid dysfunction
  • Or other health problems/injuries

We assess each client’s situation as a case by case scenario. Most of our past clients have suffered from health related problems (such as those above) and we specialise in assisting clients improve their health and well-being so that they can work through and overcome these conditions. The success of our program in helping past clients overcome these types of weight and related health problems is outstanding and we are extremely confident that we can also help you achieve your weight loss and health goals.

What would a typical day be like?

Our weight loss programs are run on a full-time basis on 6 days of the week, where Sunday is a nominated rest day and free time for program participants. Whilst our facilities have everything we need, we do aim to spend at least one day of the week out and about (either at a beach, bush-walking in the Blue Mountains or local parkland's) in some of Sydney’s finest surrounds.

Everyday is different and our program schedule's are always changing to keep it fresh and exciting, the following timetable is a example of a typical day on the NuYu program;

8:00 Taoist energy breathing & Tai Chi
8:30 Exercise session in the gym or outdoors
10:30 Healthy morning tea
10:45 Seminar (motivation, fitness, nutrition, cooking class or shopping excursion)
12:30 Nutritious lunch
1:15 Exercise session in the gym
2.40 Hydrotherapy pool aqua session
3:30 Healthy afternoon tea
3:40 Relaxation/meditation & debrief

You can expect to finish each day at approximately 4:00pm

What length of program do you recommend?

Our standard response to this question is that research suggests the average person takes approximately 4 weeks to change their habits, therefore people who are serious about results and making long term change should consider this when making their decision.

We are of course happy to accept clients for either 2, 4 or 6 weeks as they choose and are proud to say that each of these programs have had tremendous success in helping people lose significant amounts of weight and achieve other important health improvements.

What results can I expect to get from the program?

The exact science of weight loss is a very technical and often confusing area. Everyone is different and therefore every ones results may vary, for example men can typically lose more weight than women over a given period, and the more weight you have to lose the quicker it may come off (initially at least). Factors such as the duration and intensity of your exercise will also play a role in determining your actual weight loss results.

Generally, our 4 week programs have achieved the results described below. It is important to note that these results are averages based on all clients;

  • Weight loss – 10kgs per month
  • Girth reduction – 31cms off your body
  • Hypertension (high blood pressure) – Average reduction of 14.7% in blood pressure readings (100% success rate)
  • Improved strength, flexibility and mobility – Significant improvements (100% success rate)
  • Sleep patterns (insomnia/apnoea) – Significant improvement in sleeping patterns (100% success rate)
  • Stress/anxiety – Significant improvement in stress & anxiety levels (100% success rate)
  • Energy levels – Significant increase in energy levels (100% success rate)
  • Improved skin – Significant improvement in skin texture and reduced blemishes

What happens after my program is finished?

You will have constant email/phone contact with our trainers, access to our informative newsletters, and tips/facts sheets. We also offer a comprehensive internet membership program that provides you with full-time on-going support to ensure your success, with regular recipe ideas, weight loss tips, and chat/support forums where you can meet and discuss your journey with other NuYu program participants and staff.

In addition we also run follow up short course holiday programs throughout the year which you will have access to.

Are you just another Health Retreat?

No. We are a specialised weight loss clinic/facility. Unlike most health retreats which specialise in relaxation and pampering, our focus is to actually improve your long term health; We have built and designed programs and packages with the sole intention of helping you lose weight and make significant lifestyle changes. Our programs are completely structured and are run on a full-time basis where you will always be involved in an activity aimed directly at improving you and your health.
